Daughter is a traditional Yume Nikki fangame demo, starring Edel, an old lady who lives alone and refuses to enter the rooms of her home besides her own. You may explore her dreams while she waits for her family to visit her.
As you explore her dreams, you can collect effects that will help you go deeper. In this version, no endings are available yet but you'll be able to collect 5 effects.
Content warnings: As of this release, this game contains mild splatter and mild artsy nudity. This game will imply some delicate subjects like parental abuse, substance abuse, body horror and death. Contains flashing lights. More specific triggers will come as I complete the game. Player discretion is advised.

Not only is the art lovely, but I think this has been the most thematically sound DDJ5 game I've played yet. The ballet dancing, the porcelain dolls and statues with their implications of timeless beauty and youth...this manages to strike an effective balance between the symbolic and the surreal, and that can be very hard to accomplish.
Found some bugs:
1) You can keep picking up the knife. I have 8 knives in my current save file :P
2) Found another collision issue where you can go off the tiles in the uh...candy clouds?
I'm playing a bunch of ddj5 games today but I'm definitely coming back to this one to finish it. Got 4 effects. Still haven't figured out how to get any dolls though!
Thank you for your thoughts! I do have some specific themes I want to imply through the imagery so I'm glad it shows. I'll patch the bugs soon thanks for letting me know.
As for the dolls, there is a doll seller who jumps around the dream locations so they might be hard to find. When you find them you can buy some dolls for your collection so keep some coins around just in case! :)
I enjoyed this game so much! The art style is gorgeous, great work on the pixel art! I'm very much looking forward to more! I found an issue where once I used the flower effect my speed increased quite a bit and there were a few collision issues (such as some of the dolls in the birthday world) but nothing game breaking. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
